My Name is Wilma is written from the point of view of our cat Wilma, and it's about our emigration to my country of birth, New Zealand, and ten years later, back again. Wilma experienced this in real life and in her book has quite quirky opinions on what is going on with her humans as they keep chasing their goals. In the meantime she has many adventures of her own.
When we lived in New Zealand, in between full-time jobs as a communications and web adviser, I gained a diploma in creative writing from Whitireia Polytechnic. Back in the Netherlands, I have a parttime job and have found time to write, although self-publishing is a steep, steep learning curve.
I also love writing poetry. In New Zealand I worked towards a Diploma in creative writing from Whitireia Polytech. I also took part in the IOWA poetry workshop in Wellington. Since I have been back in the Netherlands I have taken part in quite a few online poetry workshops of Kevin Higgens. They are brilliant and encouraging.
